Almost at the End

Almost at the end of my lease, which is mind blowing. Ten months just flew right by, my oh my! Something else set up but a big delay while waiting for that to clear. Considering the various temporary options, one of which would be to go back to the place I left. Um, no. Doing so would require me to be on guard at all times, which is impossible. As well as the risk of slipping into old habits. Habits which I haven't done since I've left. There are many ways to live, but that's not one of them. It's unbelievable the amount of 'rooms for rent' that are listed online. Many of which charge $800 or more for a private bedroom while sharing the common areas. If one has to pay that much, just get an apartment. If you know them, that's different but even in my desperation I'm not keen on living with strangers.

So, I'm giving myself plenty of time to sort and pack. It's not a whole lot, an 'expanded studio' amount but still a lot for one person. When I first moved to the place I'm at now, all I had in terms of furniture initially was just a bookcase, upholstered chair, small end table and a desk with rolling chair. Now there's also a small bathroom shelf unit, kitchen cart, second desk with pc, small kitchen table, another end table and a full-size mattress with metal platform. When I move to temporary spot, I'll just take the basics. The rest going in storage. I'll miss my 'quirky little apartment' that's close to stores in a beautiful area. But risks but be taken in order to achieve something better.
